Elma Fire Station

New Elma Fire Station

The Elma Fire Company is proud to announce that the construction of their new Station #2 is almost complete. The new station is located on Girdle Road next the Boys & Girls Club and across the street from the Iroquois Central School complex (several pictures). The station has 3 bays, lavoritories, a day room, offices and much needed storage. The rear of the building has a shelter built in for future fund raisers. As Elma’s Fire Protection District has grown, the need for a 2nd station was a much needed addition. The property that the building was erected on was actually purchased many years ago for just this purpose.

New Marilla Engine #4

Marilla Fire Company's new Engine #4 has been completed. The unit is built on a 4x4 Freightliner M2 chassis, 1250 gpm, 500 gallon water tank and stainless steel body. The unit was built by Rosenbauer and will be delivered from their production facility in South Dakota to the dealer in Grand Island the week of 4/20/09. After a few days of equipment mounting and lettering, the unit should arrive @ the Marilla fire hall by April 24th. After more equipment mounting and training, the unit will go into service araound the middle of May.

Jamison Rd. Ladder Truck

The Jamison Road Fire Company has recently taken delivery of their new ladder truck. It is a 2004 Spartan/Rosenbauer 109’ Straight Stick. The truck has a 430HP Detroit diesel engine, 1500 GPM Waterous Pump, 300 gal. poly tank, Foam Pro System, 13 compartments with 3 slide out trays. The 4 door enclosed cab carries 6 firefighters, of which 5 are SCBA seats. The truck is painted black over red, which is quite common. However, what makes this color combination unique is the entire ladder assembly is also painted black (numerous pictures). This unit replaces their 1989 65’ American Eagle.

New Elma Fire Company Light Rescue

The Elma Fire Company is proud to report that it has acquired and new light rescue vehicle. It is a 2009 Ford F550 crew cab 4x4 Light Rescue/Utility truck. It was manufactured in Georgia by Custom Works, Inc. It has a 6kw on board diesel generator with (2) stationary 500w lights, (2) portable 500w lights and multiple plugs. It has a 10,000# portable winch with the capability to attach same to all four sides of the truck. The truck will be Elma’s back-up EMS vehicle and be fully Paramedic equipped. It can also be utilized to carry portable pumps, generators and serve as a hose tender, as the back of the unit is open similar to a pick-up truck.
